Usain Bolt breaks 200 meters world record
Usain Bolt made headlines when he broke the world record in Berlin after running the 100 meter sprint in just 9.58 seconds. Now, Usain set another world record by running just 19.19 seconds in the 200 meter category at the 12th IAAF World Athletics Championships in Berlin.
Bolt took the gold medal in Beijing with a record of 19.30 seconds. And today, he ran faster by shaving a tenth of a second off the mark he set in the 200m at last year’s Olympics.
Alonso Edwards of Panama claimed silver in 19.81 seconds with Wallace Spearmon of the United States taking the bronze in 19.85 seconds.
