Jamaica’s Usain Bolt sets new world record (video)

12th IAAF World Athletics Championships - Day Two

Olympic track star Usain Bolt smashed his own 100m world record Sunday with another blistering run at the 12th IAAF World Athletics Championships in Berlin.

Bolt, the world’s fastest man, recorded a time of 9.58 seconds to shave 0.11 off the mark he set last year when winning gold at the Beijing Olympics.

Defending champion Tyson Gay of the United States beat Bolt out of the blocks, but the 22-year-old Jamaican accelerated past the field and never looked back as he broke the tape in a world record time.
