Vampire Weekend sued by cover model

Vampire Weekend gets a deadly bite.

With the release of the indie band’s latest album Contra, also comes a lawsuit. Filed by the album’s cover model Kirsten Kennis, the band faces a $2 million dollar case.

Kennis claims that her photograph used by the band in the album Contra was used without her permission. She also alleges that the consent form in which her signature appears is a forgery.

Celebrity news source TMZ.com reports that Kennis filed the suit at the L.A. County Superior Court. It was reported that the band had obtained the “photographic release” from a photographer named Tod Brody.

Kennis claims that the original photo was taken back in 1993.
