Viewers want Judi Dench’ roles to be swear-free

The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) recently noted a somewhat interesting phenomenon: there are always complaints supposedly expected to arise whenever Dame Judi Dench, the actress who plays M in the James Bond flicks, swears or otherwise utters brash words on the air.

The BBFC has called this “The Judi Factor“, and true enough, Quantum of Solace, the latest James Bond movie, has merited a total of six complaints from UK viewers – four of which were attributed to Dench’ swearing on camera.

Dame Judi Dench has been named a British National Treasure, and as such, may be the reason why viewers are so sensitive as to the demeanor that Dench portrays on camera – where most everyone can see her.
