Watch Game 6 of the 2010 Stanley Cup Final Live Online [UPDATED]
Stanley Cup Final Live Stream: The Chicago Blackhawks lead the series, three games to two, and can win their first Stanley Cup since 1961 with a victory tonight at the Wachovia Center, the home of the Philadelphia Flyers.
While every team would prefer to win the title in front of a hometown crowd, coach Joel Quenneville’s men will certainly be satisfied with a victory in Philadelphia. Last year, the Detroit Red Wings had a chance to wrap their arms around Lord Stanley’s Chalice with a Game 6 victory. Unfortunately, they lost the next two matches to the Pittsburgh Penguins.
For the sixth time this season, the Flyers face elimination. One more win, and the Hawks will capture the Cup. In Game 5, Dustin Byfuglien scored twice and added two assists for Chicago, as his team defeated Philadelphia 7-4.
Peter Laviolette made a tough decision and named Michael Leighton as his starter for Game 6. At first he declined to say which netkeeper he would go with tonight but then he explained: “I’m very confident in Michael. He’s played excellent in the playoffs and his numbers are terrific.”
The match kicks-off at 8:00 p.m. ET.
UPDATE: The Hawks captured their first championship since 1961 with a 4-3 win in Game 6, thanks to Patrick Kane’s goal 4:10 into overtime.
