world cup 2010 live streamPortugal vs Spain Free Live Stream: Cape Town hosts the much-anticipated game between Spain and Iberian rival Portugal on Tuesday, June 29, for the 2010 World Cup‘s Round of 16. This will be the two teams’ first meeting at a FIFA World Cup but they already faced each other for at least 32 matches in the past.

There are lots of expectations as these two teams collide at the Green Point Stadium at 20:30 (local time).

Spain was greeted with a 1-0 defeat in the opening round against Switzerland but re-claimed their posture in the contest as they won their next two Group H matches against Chile and Honduras.

“Portugal are a great team and they’re about more than just Cristiano Ronaldo. Yes it’s true that Cristiano is one of their best players, but we mustn’t forget that the Portuguese are the only team that still haven’t conceded a goal at this World Cup. That proves that they’re a solid unit and not just a collection of individuals. Their game is based around defensive solidity, pace and counter-attacking, as well as having very skillful players. I foresee a very difficult game, like they all will be for the rest of the competition. Only the best teams are left in it now,” said Spain Coach Vicente del Bosque.

Portugal on the other hand passed Group G with a goalless draw against Ivory Coast and Brazil but thrashed the North Koreans 7-0 to be in the second spot and qualify in the Round of 16.

“We’re ready to take on anybody. We’ve already played in critical games during qualifying and now we have another all-or-nothing match at a World Cup. That’s why we’re ready to give everything we’ve got on the pitch with only one aim in mind: staying in the World Cup. Portugal’s best is still to come,” said Portugal coach Carlos Queiroz.
