The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is internationally recognized as the official start of the holiday season. Today (Nov.26), at around 9:00 a.m. ET, New Yorkers and tourists alike will gather on the Upper West Side of New York City to witness their beloved characters come to life in the forms of massive balloons.

The gigantic inflatables, featuring Shrek, Spider-Man, and Pillsbury Dough Boy, among others, measure several stories tall and are filled with thousands of cubic feet of helium.

The parade will include a high-stepping Rockettes and marching bands from across the United States. Performers include Andrea Bocelli, Jimmy Fallon, The Roots, Gloria Gaynor, Emily Hughes, the cast and Muppets of “Sesame Street” and a lot more.

    The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is just outstanding to watch! I have been watching this parade for mamy years and it is an extremely amazing parade to take your children to! Or your wife/ husband! lol

    It is such a shame NBC or CBS aren't offering live streams on their own sites. They could stick commercials in just like with their other online shows and be making a profit! Millions of people watch this parade. What a lack of sense on both their parts….
