2010 Indianapolis 500 Live Stream

Indy 500 Live Stream: The 94th edition of the Indianapolis 500 kicks-off this afternoon at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and defending champion Helio Castroneves is starting from the pole for the second straight time. Since the pole winner has won three of the last four Indy 500s, the 35-year-old Brazilian is a good bet to tie a record four career victories.

Only three men have garnered four Indy 500 wins (A.J. Foyt, Al Unser, Rick Mears) and Castroneves will try to join that elite club. However, there are no shortage of dark horses in the competition.

“I’m trying to focus on the race, go out there and win it,” Castroneves said. “Yes, Indianapolis is the most important one. Again, if it’s not that this time, there going to be a next race.”

Castroneves danced his way into America’s heart three years ago with his victory in ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars,’’ beating out Spice Girl Melanie Brown and Marie Osmond.

This year, around 300,000 fans are expected to attend and millions around the world are going to follow the race live on TV and on the internet. Celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Justin Timberlake are just a few of the A-listers that have come to Indiana to experience the greatest thrill in motor sports.

The race starts at 1:00 p.m. ET.

UPDATE: Dario Franchitti won the Indianapolis 500 for the second time. Franchitti’s victory saw Chip Ganassi become the first owner to win the Indy and NASCAR’s Daytona 500 in the same year. You can watch the video HERE.
