Weed Superstore Opens in Arizona

Medical-MarijuanaCapitalizing on Arizona’s new medical marijuana law, a company has opened what it calls the “Wal-Mart of Weed.”

A marijuana superstore with 21,000 square feet of space, the weGrow store in Phoenix started operations earlier this week. weGrow founder Dhar Mann told Reuters in an interview that the store, which has been described by some people as the “Home DePot,” offers products that would help patients in need of medical marijuana grow their own weed. “We sell the products and the services for people to safely and responsibly cultivate their medicine,” said Mann, whose company also has branches in Oakland and Sacramento, California.

The store offers some 2,000 products and services, but is not selling the weed itself. As a bonus, the weGrow store has its own doctor who can give patients the clearance they would need to apply for permits to grow and use their own marijuana for medical purposes.

Voters approved the medical marijuana act in November last year, making Arizona the 16th U.S. state to allow the use of marijuana as treatment for various ailments.
