‘West Wing’ Writer Gets New Hosting Job
A former writer to the highly successful television drama series The West Wing was offered to host a new show in MSNBC.
Lawrence O’Donnell has been with the network since its inception in 1996. He has been a guest host to Countdown with Keith Olbermann, Hardball with Chris Matthews and The Rachel Maddow Show for some time now.
His new show will get a 10 PM time slot, weeknight. It is a one-hour long program.
“I’ve had a part-time job at MSNBC for 14 years,” O’Donnell expressed in a statement. “Now that the network and I have gotten to know each other, I’m thrilled to be going full time.”
The launch date has not been confirmed though.
O’Donnell previously worked as a writer for the political drama The West Wing. He was nominated for Best Writing – Episodic Drama in the Writers Guild of America Awards in 2000 for the episode Take This Sabbath Day.
