Wimbledon 2009: Roger Federer vs. Philipp Kohlschreiber
Roger Federer will open Centre Court action this afternoon (June 26) at Wimbledon tennis tournament in England. He takes on Germany’s Philipp Kohlschreiber for a spot in the fourth round.
Federer and Kohlschreiber will be meeting for the fourth time in their careers. The German will be Roger’s toughest test thus far and he’s accomplished on the grass, but I don’t like his chances against the five-time champion. Roger’s flying high.
The world number two is bidding for his sixth Wimbledon championship and a record 15th major title overall.
The game starts at 1 p.m. local time (8 a.m. ET).
UPDATE: Roger Federer dropped a set for the first time in this year’s Wimbledon but still advanced one step closer to his 15th major title with a third round victory against Philipp Kohlschreiber. The Swiss tennis ace earned a berth in the fourth round Monday against Robin Soderling.
