Woman shot to death during KKK ritual
A woman was killed at a Ku Klux Klan ritual in the swamps of Louisiana, officials told local media.
At some point on Sunday evening, the woman decided she wanted to leave and got into a quarrel with group leader Raymond “Chuck” Foster, 44 who pulled out a .40 caliber handgun and shot her.
Investigators found weapons, several flags and six Klan robes at the campsite, St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Jack Strain said in a news release.
Strain said the woman, whose identity was not released, was recruited over the Internet to participate in the ritual and then return to her home state to find other members for the white supremacist group.
In an attempt to cover up the crime, some of the group’s members burned the victim’s personal items, including a purse, and tried to clean up the crime scene before they split up.
The member of the KKK-affiliated group reportedly called themselves the “Dixie Brotherhood.” But although they were quite young, with ages ranging from 20 to 30, they mustn’t be feared, Sheriff Strain said.
