World Cup 2010: Netherlands vs. Slovakia Live Stream [UPDATED]
Slovakia takes on the Netherlands (Holland) this afternoon in Durban hoping to keep its World Cup 2010 hopes alive and join Uruguay, Ghana, Germany and Argentina in the quarter-finals.
This fixture pits one of the tournament favorites against a team making its first World Cup appearance as an independent nation. The Dutch enter the knockout phase with a perfect record, winning all three of their group matches, while Slovakia defeated defending champions Italy 3-2 to clinch a spot in the last 16.
Considered one of the best teams never to win the Cup, the Netherlands will try to avoid another early elimination and Bert van Marwijk’s side can’t afford any mistakes now. Bayern Munich’s Arjen Robben appeared as a second-half substitute in a 2-1 win over Cameroon and quickly showed what the Dutch lack when he is on the sidelines. Marwijk has avoided making any comments about today’s starting XI but would not deny either that Robben could start.
The match kicks-off at 16:00 CET (10:00 a.m. ET).
UPDATE: Arjen Robben and Wesley Sneijder scored in each half as Netherlands beat Slovakia 2-1 and booked their place in the quarter-finals of the 2010 World Cup.
