World Cup 2010: Nigeria vs. South Korea Live Stream [UPDATED]
South Korea and Nigeria collide in a crucial Group B encounter at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, and Super Eagles captain Nwankwo Kanu is optimistic about the chances of his country making it to the last 16 of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
The West Africans have been in disappointing form in their first two games and have yet to pick up their first point. But mathematically, Lars Lagerback’s men can still qualify for the next round. And with Argentina’s dominance it is still a good possibility.
If Nigeria, South Korea and Greece will all be tied on 3 points, the Super Eagles will qualify on goal difference. The Netherlands and Brazil were the only teams guaranteed of reaching the second round, although the Argentines are as good as through. Even if they lose 3-0 to Greece, South Korea would have to beat Lagerback’s side by the same margin to stop them progressing.
After a convincing 2-0 win against Greece in their opening match, South Korea were defeated by Argentina. The Tigers of Asia proved to be an effective outfit against the Greeks, and Park Ji-sung‘s goal against the European side made him the first South Korean to score at three World Cups. However, they were no match against a powerful Argentine side led by Barcelona striker Lionel Messi, the reigning FIFA World Player of the Year.
Who do you think will win this match? The game starts at 20:30 CET (2:30 p.m ET).
UPDATE: A 2-2 stalemate against Nigeria sent South Korea into the last 16 of the tournament. It was the first time for the Tigers of Asia to advance into second round of the World Cup on foreign soil.
