World Cup 2010: USA vs. Algeria Live Stream [UPDATED]
Majority of football fans in North America and the Middle East will be glued to their TV screens as the United States men’s national team takes on the Desert Foxes of Algeria at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in a crucial Group C match this afternoon (16:00 CET/10:00 ET).
As the only Arab nation at the 2010 FIFA World Cup, Algeria carries an extra burden. The Desert Foxes are not a world football power but they will be buoyed by the unexpected point taken against England in their last game.
A victory would move Team USA into the last 16. Suffer defeat and they go home on the heels of yet another mediocre performance. Although there are scenarios where Bob Bradley’s men can progress with a draw, a win would guarantee them a spot in the next round. For Algeria, a victory is the only option. But here’s the bad news: The Americans have lost every single game 3 it has played in the World Cup.
The Yanks will once again count on Landon Donovan, Clint Dempsey and Michael Bradley. They are not, by nature, forwards, but they have been responsible for all three goals for the United States.
UPDATE: Landon Donovan’s stoppage-time strike brought the Yanks from outside the knockout stage to group winners. USA beat Algeria 1-0.
