World Cup 2010 Qualifying: Denmark vs. Sweden

Denmark vs. Sweden is not only a game of honor but also a top-of-the-table clash that can guarantee both sides a spot at next year’s World Cup Finals.

The Danes are three points ahead of second-placed Sweden with two games remaining in Group One. And tonight, the Swedes are hopeful that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will use his amazing Barca goal-scoring form to sharpen their often dull attack.

This match is the biggest game in Scandinavia and the Nordic rivals we’ll be going all out for the victory. If Svenska break the Olsen Gang’s perfect group record and win tonight, both teams will be equal with 18 points.

Game time 8 p.m. CET (2 p.m. ET).

UPDATE: Denmark secured automatic qualification for South Africa after beating Sweden 1-0. Midfielder Jakob Poulsen scored the game’s only goal in the 79th minute to keep the Olsen Gang on top of the group.
