Swiss adventurer Yves Rossy (a.k.a. JetMan) completed an eight-minute flight along the Grand Canyon on Saturday (May 7). The flight had been scheduled for Friday, but was delayed due to safety issues.

Wearing a custom-built jet pack, the 51-year-old aviation enthusiast soared 60 meters above the canyon rim at speeds of up to 190mph before powering down his engines and parachuting safely to the canyon floor.

Rossy served as a fighter pilot in the Swiss Air Force and is now a commercial pilot for Swiss International Air Lines.
