Amy Winehouse Cause of Death Still Unclear
An autopsy performed on fallen singer Amy Winehouse was inconclusive, British police said on Monday.
Winehouse, who shot to fame with her Grammy Award-winning song “Rehab,” was found dead at her London apartment on Saturday. Police said after Monday’s autopsy that more tests were needed to find out what really caused Winehouse’s death. “It did not establish a formal cause of death and we await the results of further toxicology tests,” police said in a statement.
The 27-year-old singer-artist was scheduled to be laid to rest on Tuesday, but details about the funeral service were not revealed. Her spokesman, Chris Goodman, said the funeral service “will be a small, private event for a few friends and family.”
Despite her troubled public image, Winehouse was known to people close to her as a fun-loving person. “We will always remember Amy as a vibrant, funny, caring young woman who made everyone around her feel welcome. We have lost a very special person, part of our family,” Metropolis Music, her management company, said in a statement.
