Andrews, Scherzinger Share Lead on “Dancing”

Olympic star Evan Lysacek will be playing catch up in tomorrow’s “Dancing with the Stars” finale after Monday’s second-to-last episode was dominated by the female finalists, ESPN sportscaster Erin Andrews and Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger.

Andrews and Scherzinger share the lead on the judges’ score cards going into the finale after they both scored 55 out of a possibile 60 points for their two dances on Monday. Andrews and her professional partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, scored 29 points out of 30 for the “redemption dance,” where the dancers are made to dance a style the judges thought the partners should have excelled in the first time they performed it. Andrews and Chmerkovsky earned 26 points for their freestyle dance.

Scherzinger and partner Derek Hough were assigned the rumba for their “redemption dance,” for which they scored 28 points. The pair scored 27 for their energetic freestyle, which captivated both the crowd and the judges.

The dancers will perform their favorite dance tomorrow, with the top two finalists going on a dance-off to determine who will take home the mirrorball trophy.
