Angelina Jolie Reconciles with Dad Jon Voight
Academy Award winner Angelina Jolie has finally made up with her father whom she has not talked with for the last eight years.
The actress and UN ambassador was prodded by domestic partner Brad Pitt to end up her public rift with her father, Jon Voight, who is also an Academy Award winner. The father and daughter were pictured together in Venice, Italy where Jolie and Pitt relocated their family for the next three months as part of their setup for her next film The Tourist (co-starring Johnny Depp).
The feud started in 2002 when Voight called for Jolie in Access Hollywood to “get help” for her “serious mental problems.” Jolie then refused to talk to him. She wouldn’t even let him see her six children and have filed a legal case to remove the name Voight in her name. He tried to patch things up several times with the most important one in 2007 when Jolie’s mother Marcheline Bertrand died.
Voight and Jolie starred as father and daughter in the 2001 film Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.
After being encouraged by Pitt, Jolie contacted her father late last year, which was confirmed by Voight.
