Apple Officially Announces the iPhone 4S plus New iPods
Apple has officially announced the next iteration to the iPhone, the iPhone 4S. The device looks nothing different from its predecessors but it has a dual-core A5 CPU that said to be “2x as fast at CPU tasks” and “7x faster than the previous iPhone”. It also has a new 8MP camera.
Prices start at $199 up to $399. It will be available for pre-order on October 7, and ready to ship on October 14. For people in the US, you can have it on AT&T, Verizon, or Sprint.
The iPod Nano, on the other hand, has just been updated with new sixteen faces. You can still wear them as a watch and now it can also act as a pedometer without the need of a Nike+ shoe dongle. New Nanos cost $128 for 8GB and $149 for 16GB. 2GB iPod shuffle is priced at $49.
There’s also some good news for iPod Touch fans. Apple has dropped its prices and added iOS 5 and iCloud support. The 8GB version is now down to $199 from $229 while the 32GB model will be available for $299 and 64GB for $399.
The new iOS 5 will go live October 12. It will have new notifications and more than 200 new features for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
