Aretha Franklin, Yo-Yo Ma grace Obama’s inauguration
Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin graced President Barack Obama‘s inauguration, singing “My Country ‘Tis of Thee”.
The legendary singer wore a long grey coat and a matching bow-fronted hat for the momentous ceremony in Washington, D.C., where millions of people have gathered to see the new president sworn in.
She was followed by a classical performance of “Air and Simple Gifts,” arranged by John Williams and played by Yo-Yo Ma, Itzhak Perlman, Anthony McGill and Gabriella Montero.
