ATP World Tour Finals: Davydenko vs. Soderling
ATP World Tour Finals: Davydenko vs. Soderling – The last semi-final berth in Group B is still up for grabs and it will be determined on Friday on the sixth day of the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals.
Robin Soderling has already secured a spot in the semi-finals and Rafael Nadal has already been put out of contention so the last spot in the final four will go to either No. 3 Novak Djokovic or No. 6 Nikolay Davydenko, who are both 1-1 so far.
Djokovic gave himself a chance of reaching the tournament semi-finals after defeating Rafael Nadal 7-6(5), 6-3 in his final Group B round-robin match Friday afternoon at The O2.
The defending champion is not in control of his own destiny, though, as he must hope that Soderling defeats Russian Davydenko in this evening’s final match to advance.
Match starts at 20:45 Local Time (UK).
UPDATE: Nikolay Davydenko beat Robin Soderling 7-6 (4), 4-6, 6-3, in a crucial Round Robin match to secure his spot in the semifinals of the tournament.
