Brees: New Orleans Ripe For 1st Super Bowl

Drew-Brees-New Orleans-SaintsIf you ask Drew Brees, there is no other city that deserves to win Monday’s Super Bowl XLIV than New Orleans. The superstar quarterback said that for all the challenges that the people of New Orleans have faced over the years, including the devastation of Katrina, it is about time they got something really big to cheer about. He said 42 years is a long time for the people to wait for their first-ever Super Bowl title. “We’re playing for much more than a win, it’s a Super Bowl for our city and fans,” Brees said.

However, Brees will need more than just determination if his Saints are to defeat Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts. Brees knows it and that is why for the past several days he has reportedly been consulting with past Super Bowl-winning QBs. Oddsmakers have the Colts as at least +5 favorites, although some sports analysts feel that the Saints would be in a good position if their more balanced offense would click.
