Arsenal can book a place in the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League with victory over AZ Alkmaar at the Emirates Stadium this evening.

The Gunners looked to be cruising to a third consecutive win in Group H when they met the Dutch champions two weeks ago, but were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw as David Mendes da Silva scored a last-gasp equalizer.

Kieran Gibbs will likely replace Gael Clichy in defense after the Frenchman suffered a back knack.

Clichy’s withdrawal is a big blow to Arsene Wenger’s side, with the 24-year-old set to miss two European matches and three EPL games including the visit of Chelsea to the Emirates on later this month.

With Nicklas Bendtner and Theo Walcott also injured, Wenger has limited options on the right. He could ask Andrei Arshavin to switch flanks in a more offensive formation.

UPDATE: The Gunners all but secured their spot in the last 16 of the Champions League after beating Alkmaar 4-1 with two goals from Cesc Fabregas.
