UEFA Champions League: Chelsea vs. Atletico Madrid

Chelsea will be looking to maintain their perfect record in Europe when they face Atletico Madrid at Stamford Bridge.

If  Chelsea beat the Spaniards tonight, and if Porto win at home to Apoel, the West Londoners would be eight points clear of third and fourth place.

Los Colchoneros, on the other hand, have had their worst start of the season in 15 years, and defeat against Carlo Ancelotti’s side could end their hopes of making it past the group stage of the UEFA Champions League.

These two teams have never previously met in a competitive match but the Blues will be inspired by the fact that only once in 11 games have they lost at home to Spanish clubs. That came in the 2005-06 round of 16 when FC Barcelona won 2-1.

The match kicks-off at 20:45 CET (2:45 p.m. ET).

UPDATE: The Blues are on the verge of booking their spot in the final 16 of the Champions League after beating Atletico Madrid 4-0 at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.
