Cricket World Cup 2011 India vs. Bangladesh Live

India vs. Bangladesh Live: Powerhouse India and fellow co-hosts Bangladesh collide at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur for the first match of the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup. Thursday night’s opening ceremony in Dhaka`s Bangabandhu Stadium was a success, and today, cricket fans around the globe are all set for this mouthwatering clash.

A loss to the Tigers (five wickets) was largely responsible for India’s early departure from the 2007 World Cup. And Virender Sehwag, one of the leading batsmen in the Indian cricket team, admits his side have been planning their revenge on their neighbours for four years, and they would certainly not want to taste the same fate.

The Men in Blue have defeated Bangladesh in seven ODIs in the past four years, but apparently that vengeance is not enough. Sehwag said: “We lost against them and we have been waiting for the moment when we will play them in this World Cup.”

The tournament, held every four years, will go on for six weeks (49 games) and will use the One Day International format, with 14 teams scheduled to compete. England, Australia, South Africa, Sri Lanka and India are the toughest teams, but Bangladesh also have a strong batting lineup that will surely give Gary Kirsten’s men a run for their money.

The Tigers have never defeated India at this ground, but the Men in Blue have succumbed in neutral games in Mirpur against Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
