Didi Benami Leaves American Idol Season 9
Hollywood, California resident Didi Benami was booted out from American Idol season 9.
Benami sang What Becomes of the Brokenhearted during the performance night Tuesday. She became the third lady to be voted off in a season that is predicted to be a “girl’s year.” She is also guaranteed for a spot in the summer tour.
Contestants completing the bottom three were Katie Stevens and Tim Urban.
Among those who were given positive remarks from the judges were Andrew Garcia, who finally received positive remarks after weeks of being criticized for not being able to live up with his Straight Up performance in Hollywood Week; Lee DeWyze, whom judge Simon Cowell addressed that it was his the performance that will change his life; and the ever good performer Crystal Bowersox who let go of her guitar in exchange for the piano and performing in a girl’s dress complete with stilettos.
Performances were rendered by season 2 winner Ruben Studdard who sang Don’t Make ‘Em Like U No More, Diddy & Dirty Money who performed Hello, Good Morning and this week’s mentor Usher who sang OMG, the first single form his sixth album Raymond v. Raymond.
The remaining top 9 will perform songs from the Lennon/McCartney songbook.
