Dubai Wants Netanyahu Arrested; Bans Israeli Citizens
The police chief of Dubai is seeking the arrest of the prime minister and the head of the national intelligence agency of Israel in relation to the killing of a Hamas leader. Meanwhile, Israelis were banned from entering the emirate.
Police chief Dahi Khalfan Tamim said that he will ask Dubai prosecutor to issue arrest warrants for Benjamin Netanyahu (pictured) and Meir Dagan, head of Mossad, the country’s intelligence agency.
Tamim expressed a 99% belief that there was an involvement of Israeli agents in the killing of Mahmoud al-Mabhouh in a Dubai hotel last January. Israel did not deny, confirmed nor even gave any comments on the allegation.
The United Arab Emirates, were the Emirate of Dubai is a part of, does not have diplomatic relations with Israel. It backs the move for Israel to end its occupation of Palestine.
Meanwhile, the emirate is imposing a restriction for the entry of Israeli dual nationals. In the past, those who hold only an Israeli passport were not allowed in UAE. Those who hold a second passport are allowed to enter, mostly to transact business. Today, even those with second passports will not be allowed passage.
