Fiesta Bowl Update: TCU vs. Boise State
We’re just a few minutes away before two of the best teams in FBS collide in the 2010 Fiesta Bowl. Tonight, the Boise State Broncos will face the TCU Horned Frogs at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
This is the only bowl other than the national title game to pit two unbeaten sides, and the champ can stake a claim as the best team in the nation.
A win over the Frogs would give BSU 14 wins on the year, tying the 2002 Buckeyes for the most in a single season in Football Bowl Subdivision history.
A lot of fans were unhappy when this matchup was announced. However, unlike many of the non-title BCS bowls, this one has a fascinating storyline, and it goes beyond whether the Frogs’ rugged defense can shut down the Broncos’ fast-paced offense. I think the key will be turnovers.
Boise State receiver Austin Pettis might play tonight, but based on his pregame warmup, he won’t be that effective.
The match kicks-off at 8:00 p.m. ET.
UPDATE: The Frogs’ bid for an undefeated season ended as Boise State defeated TCU, 17-10.
