Box Office Catches Bieber Fever
The fever that has plagued the United States has reached even the film industry as a 3D documentary film about Justin Bieber topped the box office in its opening day Friday, February 11.
Justin Bieber: Never Say Never raked in an estimated 12.38 Million USD to take the top spot. Following on its heels is Just Go With It, which stars Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston with 9.70 million USD.
Rounding up the the top five are Gnomeo and Juliet for third with 6.10 million USD, The Eagle, which stars Channing Tatum, at fourth with 2.75 million USD and The Roommate, the number 1 film the previous Friday, February 4, with 2.53 million USD.
Just Go With It can still overtake the Bieber film for the weekend battle if it can bounce on Saturday and Sunday.
The film features the young star’s performances of his 2010 My World Tour. Also included are home videos of Bieber that were taken when he was still a kid.
Singer Usher is one of the producers of the film.
