Hollywood Walk of Fame Off Limits to Reality Stars

Reality stars will have to branch out to other facets of the entertainment industry if they aspire to be immortalized on the sidewalks of a famous Los Angeles strip that honors the who’s who in the world of make believe.

An official of the Hollywood Walk of Fame organization that assigns a plot of real estate to celebrities in the famous Hollywood Boulevard and a portion of Vine Street said that the Snookis, Kardashians, and Paris Hiltons of television will have to do something more to earn their place in the sidewalk. In answering a query about the chances of say Jersey Shore star Snooki getting her name etched on the Walk of Fame, the organization posted this status update on its Facebook page: “Someone asked if we give reality show characters stars? Hell to the No!”

Hollywood Walk of Fame vice president of media relations Ana Martinez reportedly told E! News that the Facebook post was her personal opinion. “That’s my personal opinion as the caretaker of the Walk of Fame for 24 years. I’m very protective. And people are kind of in agreement.” Martinez said that the organization may consider reality stars who will accomplish something other than starring in their reality show.
