International Friendly: England vs. Mexico Live Stream (Free Online Video)
England vs. Mexico Live Stream: The England national football team welcomes Mexico to Wembley Stadium this evening in a friendly encounter in preparation for next month’s World Cup.
El Tri are currently ranked 17th in the FIFA World Rankings and will be using this game as a warm-up having been drawn in Group A alongside France, Uruguay, and South Africa.
Fabio Capello, the England manager, has intentionally omitted some of his key players ahead of the clash and will experiment with his team’s more marginal World Cup hopefuls. The Chelsea quartet of Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard, John Terry, and Joe Cole will all miss tonight’s game. Portsmouth goalkeeper David James has also been excluded, but Wayne Rooney will play some part, according to reports.
Steven Gerrard is set to make the most of Lampard’s absence in midfield while Rooney will be tried as a lone striker upfront. Robert Green is likely to feature at some point.
“I will experiment against Mexico,” Capello said. “It is important to see how some of these players perform on the pitch.”
Meanwhile, the former Real Madrid boss has denied reports that David Beckham will be part of his coaching staff for the World Cup. The Italian said: “Beckham will not be on my coaching staff. He will stay with us and he can help us but there will be no coaching.”
The match kicks-off at 21:00 CET (3:00 p.m. ET).
UPDATE: England defeated Mexico 3-1.
