‘James Bond 23’: Javier Bardem confirmed as new Bond villain
Javier Bardem has been confirmed as the new villain for the next James Bond film, which is still going under the working title Bond 23.
“I’m very excited because my parents took me to watch the movies, and I saw all of them so to play that is going to be fun,” the 42-year-old Spanish actor said during an interview with Christiane Amanpour on Nightline. “They choose me to play this man, but I cannot give you many details.”
Bardem, who is married to Penélope Cruz, will be joining a cast that includes Daniel Craig, Judi Dench, Berenice Marlohe and Ralph Fiennes. The last time he portrayed a bad guy was in the 2007 film No Country for Old Men, and the role of a hitman earned him an Academy Award for best supporting actor.
