La Liga: FC Barcelona vs. Deportivo la Coruna
The Catalan giants face yet another tricky test to their strength this evening (22:00 CET) as they take on Deportivo La Coruna at Estadio Riazor.
Currently the Galician club sits in fifth place in the table. They have lost just once in their last ten games and they will be a serious test for Pep Guardiola’s side. Barca have only won three times in Coruna in the last 17 years.
Depor reached their third straight victory last weekend after beating Santander. They, alongside Valencia, are the only two teams who have broken the Barcelona -Real Madrid duopoly on the La Liga title in the last decade.
The Catalans are still unbeaten in the league this season. They won comfortably against Xerez in midweek but looked a bit tired having being involved in two massive fixtures (Inter Milan and Real Madrid) and this would be their third game in a week.
UPDATE: Lionel Messi scored twice to lead Barca to a 3-1 victory over Deportivo La Coruna in the Spanish league. Zlatan Ibrahimovich added another goal with only two minutes remaining—his 10th of the campaign, and third in three matches this week.
