Lady Gaga Wins at First MTV O Music Awards

Lady Gaga scooped up two awards on Thursday night as MTV presented its first-ever O Music Awards, the network’s experimental digital awards show that seeks to recognize the hottest music-related things on the Internet.

Gaga won the Most Innovative Artist and Must-Follow Artist on Twitter awards in the show that was streamed online from Las Vegas. Gaga, as the other winners, accepted and made her thank you speech through a video stream from another location. As usual, the singer addressed her “monsters” in her thank you speech. “To all the monsters watching, surge on,” she said.

Also getting their own O cube, as MTV calls the trophy given away to winners, were Kanye West for Best Tweet, Willow Smith for Most Viral Dance (Whip My Hair), and 30 Seconds to Mars for Best NSFW Video Award (Hurricane). Aside from giving out awards, the O Awards also became the platform for rapper Chidera “Chiddy” Anamege’s record-setting act. Chiddy broke the Guinness World Record for Longest Freestyle Rap when he blabbered for nine hours, 18 minutes, and 22 seconds.
