LeBron James Headed to Chicago?
A few days before LeBron James becomes eligible to join the NBA free agent market, several speculations have come up, including claims that the league MVP is seriously considering a move to Chicago.
Multiple Web sites reported on Saturday that James is moving closer to picking the Chicago Bulls as his new team, which is also reportedly making a pitch to land Toronto center Chris Bosh. Citing a top NBA executive, the New York Times reported that James is already sold on picking the Bulls that an upcoming meeting with other teams in Ohio would be done just out of respect.
Aside from the Bulls, the New York Knicks, the New Jersey Nets, the Miami Heat, and the Los Angeles Clippers are expected to send their representatives to meet James in Ohio on Thursday in a bid to woo the top free agent prospect. James, through his business manager, had earlier announced that he will not be making a recruiting tour but instead meet with individual teams in Ohio.
The Bulls made a big move on Draft night a few days ago when they traded reliable guard Kirk Hinrich to free up more salary cap room. If James and Bosh indeed move to Chicago, they will form what could be fearsome foursome with Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah.
Despite all the buzz about James moving out of town, the Cleveland Cavaliers management does not seem to be bothered, with new general manager Chris Grant saying that the team already has a strategy to make the prized player stay put. “We have a plan and we will execute it.”
