LeBron James Sees Cleveland as Top Choice
The New York Knicks, New Jersey Nets, and Chicago Bulls–all interested in luring LeBron James out of Cleveland–might have to double their efforts if they intend to sign the player who could become the biggest free agent this summer. In an interview with CNN’s Larry King, James said the Cavaliers “absolutely…have an edge” in the race to get his services next season.
“You know, this city, these fans, I mean, have given me a lot in these seven years. And, you know, for me, it’s comfortable. So I’ve got a lot of memories here,” James said in his first interview since the Cavaliers lost to the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference semifinals. The interview will air on Friday on “Larry King Live.”
The coming off-season is expected to be the busiest in years with several high-profile players eligible to become free agents. Among those touted to join the free agent market are Miami Heat star Dwayne Wade, Amare Stoudemire of the Phoenix Suns, Toronto Raptors star Chris Bosh, Atlanta Hawks guard Joe Johnson, and Carlos Boozer of the Utah Jazz.
