Lil Wayne Pleads Guilty to Arizona Drug Charge

Lil Wayne may just have avoided another jail time. Already serving time in a New York jail for gun possession, Wayne pleaded guilty to one charge of possession of a prohibited drug in Yuma, Arizona.

Appearing through a video from his New York jail cell, the Grammy award winning rapper for 2008’s “Tha Carter III,” entered his plea bargain connected to a January 2008 incident. Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Carter, was arrested by border patrol officers after cocaine, ecstasy, and a gun were found in his tour bus. He was released after posting a $10,000 bail bond.

Lil Wayne could face a 36-month probation as sentence, prosecutors in Yuma County said. The rapper’s sentencing is set on June 30. The rapper started his New York sentence on March 8 2010. He is serving his one-year sentence on Rikers Island. He could be released four months early if he shows good behavior.
