Man on a mission to visit every Starbucks on the planet
A 37-year-old software engineer from California is on a mission to visit every Starbucks in the world.
Winter, who changed his name from Rafael Antonio Lozano Jr., has been to more than 9,000 Starbucks coffee shops in the U.S., Japan, Lebanon, Turkey and 13 other countries in the past 12 years.
He arrived this week in London to visit 400 stores in the United Kingdom, reports The Times. After a month or so in the UK, he will move on to Spain, Portugal, Germany and perhaps Romania for more “Starbucking”.
However, he will have to hurry because Starbucks Corp. is closing scores of stores he has yet to visit.
Winter, who said he once drank 29 coffees in a day, has spent about $100,000 in the past dozen years.
“I like Starbucks. It is amazingly consistent. When I am traveling, it tastes the same wherever you go. But my project is not about the coffee, it’s about the experience,” he said.
