Mexico Wins Second Miss International Title
Mexican beauty Anagabriela Espinoza won the Miss International 2009 title. Her court includes Miss Korea Seo Eun-Mi as First Runner-up and Miss United Kingdom Chloe-Beth Morgan as Second Runner-up. It was the second victory for Mexico in the 49-year history of the pageant, the last time just two years ago when Priscilla Perales took the 2007 crown.
Espinoza, 21 , bested 64 other contestants. She represented Mexico in Miss World 2008 pageant where she placed in the Top 15 and took the tile of Miss World Beach Beauty.
The countries that made it to the semi-finals are the following: Belarus, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Finland, Japan, Panama, Philippines, Spain and Venezuela.
Special awards went to Miss China Wang Qian as Miss Friendship and Miss Korea as Miss Photogenic.
The Pageant was held at Sichuan International Tennis Center, Chengdu, Sichuan, China. It was supposed to be held at The Venetian Macao in Macau last November 7 but the host committee backed out.
