NatGeo recreates flying house from ‘Up’ (VIDEO)

Real Life Up House

Here’s a fun project inspired by Pixar’s 2009 film Up.

The folks over at the National Geographic Channel managed to successfully lift a house into the air using more than 300 eight-foot-tall weather balloons. The custom-built light weight house was launched over the weekend from an airfield outside Los Angeles. It soured to an astounding 10,000 feet, breaking the record for the largest balloon cluster flight ever attempted.

The experiment was part of NatGeo’s new TV series called How Hard Can it Be? that’s set to debut in the fall.
