NBA: LA Lakers vs. Cleveland Cavaliers
Tonight, Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers will seek revenge against the Cleveland Cavaliers after the embarrassing Christmas battle that ended with angry Lakers fans throwing dozens of items onto the court.
“It was very disappointing on our part,” said Pau Gasol. “We’ve got to try to get that ballgame when we play them again.”
On that game, Mo Williams notched 28 points and LeBron James added 26. Gasol scored 11 points, Andrew Bynum had only four, Ron Artest fouled out and Lamar Odom was ejected.
The Cavs out-shot the Lakers, 54% to 37%, and Cleveland’s bench outscored the Los Angeles reserves to beat the defending champions 102-87. They have won 13 of their last 14 at The Q, averaging 104 points on 51.6-percent shooting in those games.
Kobe and the gang, meanwhile, have the best record in the NBA so far, but they have only played 15 away matches. Although they were the best team on the road last season, this year they are only 9-6 in road games.
Despite many pundits believing that the Lakers are now the No.2 squad in the NBA behind the Cavs, the defending champs still own the best record in the league at the moment and will without a doubt give LeBron and company a run for their money.
The game starts at 8:00 p.m. ET. You can watch Lakers vs. Cavs live online (free live stream) here.
Now here’s some bad news for Cleveland fans: Williams will miss tonight’s game after injuring his left shoulder during his team’s 108-100 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday.
The 27-year-old guard is currently being evaluated and Delonte West will start in place of him.
The Los Angeles Lakers failed to get their revenge and have lost their two-game season series over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Final Score: Cavaliers 93, Lakers 87.
This game is historic since Kobe Bryant have reached a career milestone. He became the 15th NBA player to achieve the 25,000 career points and the youngest in NBA history to do so.
