New York Yankees Parade 2009 in Canyon of Heroes
New York Yankees Parade 2009 – The New York Yankees won the World Series 2009 and they will definitely party!
Fans ask when and where the The New York Yankees parade will take place? According to the myfoxny, The victory parade will travel through the Canyon of Heroes, New York’s Financial District.
The parade is said to begin on Broadway at Battery Place at 11 a.m. and continue uptown along the Canyon of Heroes to Chambers Street. Then, a ceremony will be held at City Hall Plaza, where Mayor Michael Bloomberg will present the Bronx Bombers with the Keys to the City.
“Congratulations to the Yankees for bringing the world championship back home to New York City, where it belongs,” said Mayor Bloomberg. “The Yankees have thrilled the city all year long with their come-from-behind victories and never-say-die attitude, and they did it again in the World Series. What’s sweeter than a World Series won at home? The only thing that comes close is a ticker-tape parade up the Canyon of Heroes, and that’s exactly what New Yorkers will get on Friday.”
The city’s last ticker-tape parade honored the New York Giants when they won the Super Bowl in January 2008. The said parade cost $331,000, all but $24,000 of which was covered by NYC & Co., the city’s marketing arm.
