Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell Reunite for “X-Factor”
Fans who missed the regular war of words between Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell on “American Idol” may want to tune in to the American version of “The X-Factor” talent show beginning this fall.
Abdul has reportedly reached a deal to sit as judge on Cowell’s “X-Factor,” which the British music mogul has decided to bring to North America. Fox Broadcasting Co., which will be carrying “X-Factor,” has yet to issue a statement regarding Abdul’s role on the show, but a source said the 48-year-old dancer and recording artist is scheduled to join the program’s first taping on Sunday. Cowell has also been vocal about his desire to have Abdul join him again at the judging table.
Abdul and Cowell will be joined as judges by British pop star and Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole and Grammy-winning music executive Antonio “L.A.” Reid. Cole also sits as judge on the British edition of “X-Factor.” Taking care of the hosting chores are Nicole Scherzinger of Pussycat Dolls fame and Welsh television presenter Steve Jones.
