Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem Tie the Knot
Oscar-winning Hollywood stars Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem are officially Mr and Mrs Bardem. The two Spanish stars said “I Do” to each other earlier this month, a representative for Cruz, Amanda Silverman, confirmed the report in an e-mail to the Associated Press.
Silverman said the wedding took place in the Bahamas, with only family members present at the ceremony. Cruz and Bardem started dating when they co-starred in the Woody Allen film “Vicky Cristina Barcelona.” In 2008, the 36-year-old Cruz won a best supporting actress Oscar for her role in “Vicky Cristina Barcelona.”
Bardem, on the other hand, received a best supporting actor Oscar trophy a year earlier for the crime thriller “No Country for Old Men,” making him the first Spanish actor to win an Academy Award. Bardem, 41, is also the first Spanish actor to earn an Academy Award nomination. He was nominated best actor in the 2000 film “Before Night Falls.”
