Everyone seems to be talking about Miss California Carrie Prejean.

The 2009 Miss USA first runner-up was put on the spot during last night’s pageant with question on gay marriage from Perez Hilton (who was on the judging panel).

“Vermont recently became the fourth state to legalize same-sex marriage. Do you think every state should follow suit? Why or why not?”

Bah! The self-proclaimed gossip queen suddenly turned into a ‘real’ journalist.

Miss California responded, “We live in a land you can choose same-sex marriage and opposite marriage. In my country, in my family, I believe a marriage should be between a man and a woman.”

Though I don’t agree with Carrie, I respect her principles. These days, a more liberal opinion is popular, and going against that is often met with violent reactions.

Let this be a lesson to all future beauty pageant contestants. Never, ever piss off the gays.

I guess you aren't allowed to be a Christian and win the Miss USA. I hope she sues since the only reason she lost was due to Hilton's anti-Christian bigotry.

I'm glad she was willing to give an honest opinion, especially knowing who the question came from. It's absolutely ridiculous that after she answered he shook his head and then probably marked her down. I believe he asked for HER opinion, not the politically correct answer. He certainly didn't get the answer he wanted, but that's because some people do still think for themselves and have moral beliefs not according to society.

I think its awsome that she didnt give the answer the judge wanted to hear. Not gonna sell out her own beliefs just to win a competition. I think its very unfair to get a question like this where if answered honestly could cause you to lose the competition.

notice he asked a political question, did not like the answer, and than punished her. And the gays claim that they are not trying to jam there lifestyle down every ones throat.
