Premier League: Liverpool vs. Bolton Wanderers

Liverpool face Bolton at Reebok Stadium later this afternoon hoping to bounce back from their midweek disappointment at the Barclays Premier League.

On Monday the Reds slumped to their second defeat in three games this season when the Villains pulled off a 3-1 victory at Anfield. And their hopes of ending their agonizing 20-year wait to land the title are already looking remote.

In a news conference yesterday, Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez said: “We have to change something if it’s necessary… moving Steven [Gerrard] back into central midfield is an option, we have done that in a few games.”

However, despite pondering over the odds of bringing the 29-year-old back in the middle, Rafa reiterated his confidence in his current blend.

“It’s an option we have, but I still have confidence in Lucas [Leiva] and Javier Mascherano,” he said.

Game time is 3:00 p.m. BST (10:00 a.m. ET).

UPDATE: Steven Gerrard scored the winner as the Reds twice came from behind to defeat Bolton 3-2. The Wanderers led 2-1 through goals from Kevin Davies and Tamir Cohen, but the sending off of Sean Davis for two bookable offences gave Liverpool a way back into the game.
