Push pin portraits by Eric Daigh
Don’t play with pins, our mothers always told us. We obediently listened, but those who didn’t became extremely talented artists.
Eric Daigh creates incredibly detailed portraits by sticking simple push pins into poster boards. He begins the creation process by taking photos of a person and then processing those images through a software that reproduces them in five colors. The 34-year-old from Northern Michigan then uses a grid map that shows him where to stick each needle.
Daigh holds the Guinness record for the world’s biggest push pin portrait, and his largest artwork is up to 2 meters tall (109,687 colored pins).
