Reports: Bulls to Fire Vinny Del Negro

The Chicago Bulls and coach Vinny Del Negro are set to part ways, multiple media reports said. A source reportedly told ESPN that the Bulls organization’s top brass, including chairman Jerry Reinsdorf, have already talked to Del Negro, although it was not clear what the officials and the coach talked about.

If the reports turn out true, it would confirm rumors of infighting between Del Negro and executive vice-president of basketball operations John Paxson, who reportedly had a heated argument with the Bulls head coach back in March.

Some reports also suggested that Del Negro had an altercation with general manager Gar Forman. Del Negro, who led the Bulls to the playoffs for the second-straight year, has been getting support from a lot of fans, who credit the former NBA star for the development of current Bulls main men Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah.

Among the potential Del Negro replacements are Doug Collins, Maurice Cheeks, Jeff Van Gundy, and Byron Scott, among others.
